Market Sausages Beef Sticks Recalled For Undeclared Milk

CM&R of St. Paul, Minnesota is recalling about 25 pounds of ready-to-eat Market Sausages Beef Sticks for undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to milk or who is lactose intolerant could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions linked to the consumption of this product.

The ready-to-eat beef snack stick items are labeled “Smoked & Uncured Maple Beef Snack Sticks” but the package actually contains “Smoked & Uncured Mild Beef Sticks with Cheddar Cheese.” These items were produced on June 19, 2019. The recalled product is 6 ounce vacuum-packed packages of “Market Sausages Smoked & Uncured Maple Beef Snack Sticks” with lot code 1712019 and sell by date of 9/15/19.

The product has the establishment number “EST. 45394” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These beef sticks were shipped to retail locations in Minnesota. An FSIS inspection program found that the firm had received a consumer complaint reporting that the product was incorrectly labeled.

If you purchased this item and are allergic to milk or are lactose intolerant, don’t eat it. Discard it or take it back to the store where you purchased it for a refund. FSIS thinks that some of this product may be in consumers’ refrigerators.

FSIS is also conducting checks to make sure that the recalling firm is notifying its customers about this issue. They are also ensuring that the product is no longer available to consumers. If a retail distribution list becomes available, it will be posted at the USDA web site.
