Taylor’s Sausage of Cave Junction, Oregon, is recalling about 641 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry sausages because they may contain pork or sheep casing that is not declared on the product label. There have been o confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products to date.
These sausages were packaged on June 26, 2019, August 6, 2019, August 16, 2019, September 5, 2019, and October 10, 2019. The recalled products include:
- 16 ounce vacuum-sealed packages containing fully cooked, ready-to-eat, “TAYLOR’S Sausage Smoked Chicken and Apple Sausage” with lot code numbers 19217, 19176 and 19282.
- 16 ounce vacuum-sealed packages containing fully cooked, ready-to-eat, “TAYLOR’S Sausage Cheddar Dogs” with lot code numbers 19247 and 19217.
These products all have the establishment number “6172” or P-6172″ inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold at retail stores in California and Oregon. The problem was discovered by the USDA during routine inspection activities. You can see pictures of the product labels at the USDA web site.
If you are allergic to those products, do not eat these sausages. You can throw them out or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
The USDA will be conducting retail effectiveness checks to make sure that the recalling firm are telling their customers about this recall.
