Theo Chocolate Recalls Candy Bars For Undeclared Milk

Theo Chocolate of Seattle, Washington, is voluntarily recalling Sea Salt 70% Dark chocolate bars because they may contain undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is lactose intolerant or who is allergic to milk could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The recalled product was sold nationwide at the retail level from January 30, 2019 to March 11, 2019. No other product sold under the Theo Chocolate brand is recalled. The recalled product is 3 ounce Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate Bars with UPC numberĀ 8 74492 00325 8. The lot code on the product is 3092529 and the best by date is 1/2020. The lot code and best by dates are printed on the back side of the package.

A small number of 3 ounce Salted Toffee Dark Chocolate bars were mis labeled with the Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate labels and shipped to some distributors. The toffee contains butter, which is a milk allergen.

The company thinks that fewer than 150 incorrectly packaged bars were distributed. If you cannot eat milk and you purchased this product, don’t eat it. You can take it back to the place of purchase for a refund or you can discard it.
