Two Recalls: One For Chicken Fried Rice, Pimento Cheese

Two recalls have been issued for undeclared allergens. Yakitori Seasoned Chicken Fried Rice by Harvest Food Group is recalled for undeclared milk. And the other is for Mrs. Grissom’s Salads, recalling Pimento Cheese, also for undeclared milk.

Harvest Food Group of Chicago is recalling about 47,332 pounds of not ready to eat chicken fried rice products for undeclared milk. The products were produced on November 12, 2018, December 4, 2018, and December 5, 2018. The recalled product is 9-ounce cardboard packages of “yumnum global cuisine YAKITORI SEASONED CHICKEN FRIED RICE,” with lot codes “C041A8K12 BEST BY 11/12/2019,” “C091A8L04 BEST BY 12/04/2019,” and “C091A8L05 BEST BY 12/05/2019.” This product has the establishment number “P-34457” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail locations in Illinois and Michigan. No confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions have been reported.

The second recall is for Mrs. Grissom’s Select Old Fashioned Pimento Cheese. The product, produced on December 13, 2018, was packaged incorrectly. A chicken salad label on the container does not list milk, one of the major food allergens. The correct Pimento Cheese label is on the top lid. In other words, the Pimento Cheese was packaged into cups labeled Mrs. Grissom’s Select Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad.

The recall is for Mrs. Grissom’s Select Old Fashioned Pimento cheese with a date of MAR 13, 2019. There have been no reports of adverse reactions.

If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to milk, or are lactose intolerant, don’t eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.
