Hostess Raspberry Zingers Recalled For Possible Mold

Defying all urban legends, some Hostess Raspberry Zingers are being recalled for possible mold, according to Hostess Brands, LLC. The snack cakes are being recalled because the mold may develop before the best by date.

The mold you see on the surface of a food isn’t all there is to it. Branches and strands of mold may be inside the food. And some molds can produce mycotoxins or toxins that can make you sick. Some varieties of mold can trigger allergic reactions. The recall did not state whether any illnesses or reactions have been reported to the company.

The recalled products are all Hostess Raspberry Zingers. they were sold to mass merchandisers, grocery stores, distributors, dollar and convenience stores throughout the United States.
