Meating Place of Buffalo, NY has issued a recall for Lorigo brand frozen beef patties because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. About 325 pounds of ground beef product distributed in the Buffalo, NY area are included in the recall. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported in connection with the recalled product. However, consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as E. coli can cause serious illness and death. Symptoms of an E. coli O157 infection include stomach cramps and diarrhea that is sometimes bloody. These symptoms are sometimes accompanied by a low-grade fever. Lombardi Brothers Meats of Denver is recalling approximately 26,975 pounds of tenderized steak and ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported, but consumers who have purchased this meat should not eat it as E.coli can cause serious, sometimes fatal, illness. The recalled products, packaged with generic labeling, were produced between June 12 and June 30, 2015 and have the establishment number “EST. 772” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
