Fresh Express Recalls Organic Marketside Spring Mix Salad Due to Contamination with Bat Body Parts

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has alerted consumers that Fresh Market has issued a precautionary recall for a number of cases of its “Organic Marketside Spring Mix Salad” after a container was found to contain bat body parts. According to the FDA, there is “minimal” risk of potential rabies contamination. The recalled salad mix products were distributed by Fresh Market to WalMart stores to states across the Southeast: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
