Kar’s Nuts Recalled for Foreign Material

Kar’s Nuts Inc. is recalling a limited number of packages of Sweet n Salty Mix products with best by dates between August 25, 2016 and September 2, 2016. These nut mixes contain hard, clear foreign material that pose a risk of injury. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them. At the time of the recall, there had been no reports of injury. The products have been removed from store shelves. Consumers who have purchased the product with the best by dates in question can return it to its place of purchase for a full refund. Whole Foods Recalls Macadamia Nuts for Salmonella

Whole Foods Market is recalling packaged raw macadamia nuts for possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled nuts were sold at stores in AR, AZ, CA, CO, HI, KS, LA, NM, NV, OK, TX, and UT. Customers who have purchased these nuts should not eat them. Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In some cases, when Salmonella infections travel to the bloodstream, more severe illnesses such as arterial infections infected aneurysms, endocarditis and arthritis.
