Productos Tita Corp. of New York is recalling Columbian style cheese for possible Staphylococcus aureus contamination. The cheese, produced under the brand name "Tita", is called "Quesito Colombiano." It is packaged in 8 ounce clear plastic pouches or tubs with a plant code of #36-8440 and stamped code of "AUG 10 2012" stamped beneath the label bar code. The cheese was distributed in the metropolitan New York area. A routine sample of the cheese by the Division of Milk Control and Dairy Services was discovered to be contaminated with high levels of the bacteria on July 25, 2012.
