Listeria Recall for Trader Joe’s Broccoli Slaw & Kale Salad

Trader Joe’s Broccoli Slaw & Kale Salad with white meat chicken is being recalled for Listeria monocytogenes. Consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. Ghiringhelli Specialty Foods,  of a Vallejo, Calif., issued a recall for the product after a supplier of sunflower seeds notified them that the seeds, which are an ingredient in the salad, may be contaminated with Listeria. Ghiringhelli is recalling approximately 33,610 pounds of two products. One labeled Broccoli Slaw & Kale Salad with White Chicken Meat, was produced April 26 through May 1, 2016, and has “USE BY” dates of 05/02 through 05/07.
