In Canada, Madegood Fruit & Nut Bars Recalled for Salmonella

The Salmonella outbreak linked to chia seed products is prompting more recalls of secondary products made with those ingredients. Now two types of Madegood brand Chia and Berries Fruit & Nut Bars are being recalled because they were made with recalled products. While there is a Salmonella outbreak that is currently ongoing, no reports of illness have been received associated with the consumption of these specific products.

The recalled products are Madegood Chia and Berries Fruit & Nut Bar in 36 gram packages. The UPC number is 6 87456 11103 2 and the codes on the product are Lot # 1213, Lot # 0114, and Lot # 0314. Also recalled are Chia and Berries Raw Fruit & Nut Bar, in 12 x 36 gram packages. The UPC number is 6 87456 11303 6 and the codes on the product are Lot # 1213, Lot # 0114, and Lot # 0314. They were sold in Ontario, Quebec at the retail level.

If you purchased these items, do not eat them. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
