Amport, Heartland Recall Granola For Metal Pieces

Price Chopper is recalling granola made by Amport Foods because it may contain small fragments of metal mesh. The product under recall is Vanilla Almond Granola sold in 22 oz bags with the UPC number 71725 72512.

The mesh fragments are flexible but may still cause injury. Customers who have purchased this product shouId not eat it. Products affected by the recall can be returned to Price Chopper for a full refund.

Amport Foods (American Importing Co., Inc.) is based in St. Paul, MN. It makes trail mixes, dried fruits and berries, sunflower seeds, soybeans, pine nuts, yogurt and chocolate coated snacks, sundried tomatoes, and dried vegetables called  “Veggie Crunches.”  Consumers who have questions about the Vanilla Almond Granola recall can contact Amport Foods at 1-855-273-0466.

HeartlandHarvestPreviously, Heartland Brands recalled granola for possible  metal mesh bits.  Those products were sold in the U.S. the Bahamas, Bermuda, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Israel and Trinidad. Those products were HeartlandHarvest Spice Granola Cereal — 14 oz.; UPC 024300 090394; Best If Used By dates from 20130326 (March 26, 2013) through 20130910 (Sept. 10, 2013). And Heartland® Fruit & Nut Harvest Granola Cereal — 14 oz.; UPC 024300 090387; Best If Used By dates from 20130325 (March 25, 2013) through 20130910 (Sept. 10, 2013).
