Compliments Frozen Super 8 Beef Burgers Recalled in Canada

Compliments brand frozen Super 8 Beef Burgers are being recalled in Canada for possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. The recall has been issued in connection with an outbreak investigation. Consumers who have purchased these burgers, made by Belmont Meats Ltd. (Est. 112) of Toronto, should not eat them.compliments-recallThe recalled product was distributed in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador and sold in Sobeys banner stores, including Sobeys, Foodland, FreshCo, and Price Chopper. All “best before” dates are included in the recall.

The recalled burgers were sold in packages of  6 x 227 g (8 oz) / 1.36 kg  with the UPC number 0 55742 37055 3. Meat inspection legend indicating “Canada 112”

Symptoms of an E.coli infection include abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea that is watery or bloody. These symptoms usually set in within a week of exposure and last between five and 10 days. If you are experiencing these symptoms, see a doctor.
