In Canada, Alfalfa Sprouts Recalled for Possible Salmonella

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is recalling certain Sunsprout and SproutsAlive brand alfalfa sprouts because they may contain Salmonella bacteria. The sprouts were distributed in Ontario at the retail level. There have been no illnesses reported in connection with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products are Sunsprout alfalfa sprouts in 140 gram packages, with UPC numberĀ 0 57621 13501 7 and best before code of BB JUN 13. Also recalled are SproutsAlive alfalfa sprouts in 140 gram packages with UPC numberĀ 0 69022 00030 6 and best before code of BB JUN 13.
