Kraft Recalls String Cheese Varieties for Premature Spoilage

Kraft Foods is recalling some varieties of its string cheese because it could spoil before the expiration date on the label. Both Kraft and Polly-O String cheeses products “did not meet our high standards” according to the company.  About 735,000 cases of the product were shipped across the United States. The cheeses all have “best when used by” dates of October 25, 2013 through February 11, 2014. The recalled products are 16 ounce Kraft Mozzarella String Cheese, with UPC number 21000006632; .834 ounce Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim Jalapeño String 2/24 PK with UPC number 21000007264; 24 ounce Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim String Cheese with UPC number 21000017171;  12 ounce Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim String with UPC number 21000017140; 9 ounce Kraft Barbecue String Cheese Twists with UPC number 21000041619, and 9 ounce Kraft Italian Style Pizza Cheese with UPC number 21000041626.

Also recalled are 10 ounce Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim Cracked Black Pepper String Cheese with UPC number 21000044702; 20 ounce Kraft Natural 2% String Cheese with UPC number 21000044719; 10 ounce Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim Jalapeño String Cheese with UPC number 21000044726;  10 ounce Kraft Low Moisture Part Skim Tomato Basil String Cheese with UPC nubmer 21000044733; 10 ounce Kraft 2% String Cheese with UPC number 21000044740.

Also recalled are 16 ounce Polly-O Mozzarella String Cheese with UPC number 71040000251; 12 ounce Polly-O Low Moisture Part Skim String Cheese with UPC number 71040065045; 9 ounce Polly-O Barbecue Cheese Twist with UPC number 71040000503; 9 ounce Polly-O Italian Style Pizza Cheese Twist with UPC number 71040000510; and 10 ounce Polly-O Low Moisture Part Skim Black Pepper String Cheese with UPC number 71040000565.
