BBQ Pork Recalled for Undeclared Soy

recalled-bbq-porkKnockum Hill Bar-B-Que of Herndon, KY is recalling 350 lbs of BBQ pork because it contains a soy allergen that is not declared on its label. Consumers who have soy allergies should not eat this product as they risk allergic reaction if they do.

The recalled product was sold in white tubs labeled Knockum Hill Bar-B-Que Pit Cooked Barbecued Pork with the establishment number “Est. 18138” inside the USDA mark of inspection and an expiration date of April 25, 2014 or May 2, 2014. They were produced between April 11, 2014 and April 18, 2014 and distributed to retail stores in Kentucky.

The problem was discovered during a routine label check by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA FSIS). At the time of the recall there were no reports of adverse reactions.
