Beef Recalled That Wasn’t Inspected

Beef-CarcassRancho Feeding Corporation of California is recalling about 41,683 pounds of various beef products because they were made without the benefit of inspection, making them unfit for human food. No reports of illness have been received to date in connection with this problem.

The realled products are “Beef Carcasses”, 50 pound boxes of “Beef Feet”, 20 pound boxes of “Beef Oxtail”, 50 pound boxes of “Beef Hearts” and 60 and 30 pound boxes of “Beef Liver.” Also recalled are 30 pound boxes of “Beef Cheeks”, 60 pound boxes of “Beef Tripe” and 30 pound boxes of “Beef Tongue”. The carcasses and boxes have the establishment number “EST. 527” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Each box has the case code number “ON904”.

The products were made in January 8, 2014, and shipped to distribution centers and retail establishments in California. Specifically, distributed to Del Monte Meat Co. in American Canyon, C&M Meat Company in Berkeley, LaMorenita Market and Vallergas’ Market in Napa, Del Monte Meat Company, the Prime Smoked Meats in Oakland, and RBR Meats in Vernon. Officials don’t think the meat has been eaten.
