In Canada, Dried Sweet Potato Recalled for Sulphites

Dried Sweet Potato Slices RecallThe Canadian Food Inspeciton Agency (CFIA) and Merilin International Trading are recalling dried sweet potato slices because they contain sulphites that are not declared on the label.

Anyone with an allergy to sulphites and some asthmatics could have a serious reaction if they consume these products. There have been no reported allergic reactions associated with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products include Sweet Potato Slice, Chinese Characters only on the label, in 170 gram containers. The UPC number isĀ 6 932692 228582 and all codes where sulphites are not declared on the label are recalled. Also recalled are Sweet Potato Slices, Chinese Characters only on the label, in 170 gram containers with UPC numberĀ 6 932692 228599. All codes where sulphites are not declared on the label are recalled.

The products were sold in Ontario and Quebec. If you purchased these products and are sensitive to sulphites, do not eat them. Discard them or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
