Lamb’s Crunchy Dog Treats Recalled for Salmonella

Pet Center of California is recalling Lamb Crunchy’s dog treats because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Salmonella can make pets sick when they eat the treats, and humans can get sick by handling the treats. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Lambs Crunchy Salmonella RecallThe recalled product is 3 ounce bags of Lamb Crunchy’s dog treats (LAM-003) with UPC numberĀ 727348200038 and date code 122015. It is a product of the USA. It was distributed to California, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Washington state to Gelson’s Market, General Pet, Nor-Sky Pet Supply, and Independent Pet.

Pets with Salmonella may be lethargic and have diarrhea that may be bloody, along with fever, and vomiting. Some pets will only have decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Some pets may be carriers and have no symptoms at all. Your sick pet can pass the infection on to you. If your pet has eaten this product and has these symptoms, see your veterinarian.

The bacteria was found by the State of Colorado Department of Agriculture in a random sample. If you purchased this product, do not give it to your pet. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
