Tjs Place Recalls Basil Pesto Pasta for Possible Listeria

Tjs Place of Kirkland, Washington is recalling about 20 containers of Basil Pesto Pasta because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The firm has received no reports of illness to date, but listeriosis, the illness caused by the Listeria bacteria, can take up to 70 days to manifest.

Recall SignageThe product is 20 containers of Basil Pesto Pasta in 8 ounce plastic tubs. It was sold between 8/8/14 and 8/21/14 in convenience stores, pharmacies, cafes, and espresso stands in King and Snohomish counties in Washington state. A stick on the side of the container has one of these codes: 0825, 0826, 0827, or 0828.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard in a closed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.

If you ate this product, monitor yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. They include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, convulsions, and diarrhea. Pregnant women may have only a mild illness, but listeriosis can cause miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery, or life-threatnien infection of the newborn.
