Amira Tahini Sauce Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Amira Enterprises of Quebec is recalling Amira brand Tahini Sauce from the marketplace because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The recall is triggered by “findings by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency during its investigation into a food borne illness outbreak.” CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, but the recall notice states “there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

The recalled product is Amira brand Tahini Sauce sold in 750 gram containers. The UPC number is 0 69467 40101 0, with no codes. It was sold nationally at the retail level.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard in a closed or sealed container so other people and animals can’t eat it, or return to the place of purchase for a refund. Wash your hands thoroughly after you handle the product.
