Fairway Raw Hazelnuts Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Fairway “Like No Other Market” of New York is recalling raw hazelnuts (filberts) because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Fairway Hazelnuts Salmonella RecallThe recalled product, Fairway brand Raw Hazelnuts (Filberts) was distributed to Fairway stores in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. It was also sold to the public through home delivery programs by Google and Instacart. It is packaged in clear, plastic cello bags of varying weights. Each package weighs less than one pound. It has the item code 228119 XXXXXX. All “sell by” date codes of May 15, 2015 and earlier are recalled.

Routine sampling by the FDA discovered the problem. If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
