Great Feeling Foods, LLC is recalling all Groove Gluten-Free Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches produced between May 16, 2014 and December 20, 2014 for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The products contain custard ice cream base produced and recalled for Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream as an ingredient. That ice cream was recalled for Listeria contamination.
The products were distributed to and sold in various retail outlets in Western and Central Oregon and Southwest Washington. They are sold in 3 fluid ounce single packs and 6 fluid ounce 2-packs and labeled as Groove. The products include Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookie & French Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich, Groove Gluten Free Peanut Butter cookie & French Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich, and Groove Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Cookie & French Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich, among others. No illnesses related to the consumption of these products has been reported to date, but listeriosis, the illness caused by this bacteria, can take up to 70 days to manifest. If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Discard in a double bag or return to the place of purchase for a refund, then wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Clean out the freezer with a mild bleach solution.
If you ate any of these products, you must monitor yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for 70 days from exposure. Those symptoms include high fever, stiffness, severe headache, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Pregnant women may suffer a miscarriage or stillbirth if they contract listeriosis, even though their symptoms may be very mild. If you do get sick, see your doctor as soon as possible for treatment.
