Hemostat Farm Cereals Recalled for Possible Salmonella

The FDA’s weekly enforcement report reveals recalls that are not, for some reason, announced to the public. This week’s report lists a recall of Organic Homestat Farm cereal products for possible Salmonella contamination.

RecallThe recalled products are Organic Homestat Farm Quick Steel Cut Oats & Chia with Flax and Rye Flakes. It was sold in 42 ounce (2 pound 10 ounce) containers. The firm was notified by their supplier that the Flax Meal delivered to them tested positive for Salmonella Typhimurium. The recalled product has best use by dates of 03/16/17-1, 03/16/18-1, 03/19/17-1, 03/19/17-2, 03/23/17-1, 03/23/17-2, 03/24/17-1, 03/26/17-1, 03/26/17-2, and 04/08/17-2. The UPC number of the recalled product is 8 35882 00620 4.

If you purchased this product with those use by dates and that UPC number, do not use it. Throw it away in a sealed container so other people and animals can’t get at it, or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
