Trail Mix and Macadamia Nuts Recalled for Salmonella

Texas Star Nut and Food Company is voluntarily recalling natural macadamia nuts and trail mix because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date.

RecallThe recalled products are Nature’s Eats Natural Macadamia Nuts in 6 ounce packages. The lot codes are 35897001 with best by date 3/6/2016, 36157001 with best by date 3/12/2016, and 37777001 with best by date 7/14/2016. Also recalled is Southern Grove Simply Raw Trail Mix in 8 ounce packages. The lot codes are 36242004 with best by date 3/13/2016,
37534004 with best by date 6/26/2016, 37409004 with best by date 7/15/2016, and 38177004 with best by date 8/17/2016.

These products were distributed to retail stores in Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. They were sold between 6/20/2015 and 9/9/2015. People may still have some of these products in their homes. The company has ceased distribution of this lot of macadamia nuts from the supplier.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed or double bagged container, or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
