Faye’s Texas Naturals Recalling Picante and Relish

According to the FDA’s Enforcement Report for the week of March 23, 2016, Faye’s Texas Naturals is recalling some products because the pH for the products was not tested and recorded, as required by acidified food regulation. Canned foods must have a pH below a certain level to prevent the growth of pathogens such as Clostridium botulinum.

RecallAll lots of these products are recalled. The recalled products are Faye’s Texas Naturals Chili Petin Picante Muy Caliente in 16 ounce glass jars. Also recalled is Faye’s Texas Naturals Chili Petin Corn Relish in 10 ounce glass jars. Finally, Faye’s Texas Naturals Chili Petin Picante Caliente in 16 ounce glass jars is recalled.  The products were distributed in Texas, Georgia, Wyoming, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Florida, New York, Arizona, and Montana.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed or double bagged container or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
