The Food Recall Roundup for July 24, 2016 includes lots of recalls for allergies, some for foreign material, and others for Listeria monocytogenes. It also includes a product recall for too much lead, a heavy metal toxin.

Recalls

Weis recalled 30 bakery products on July 22, 2016 because they may have small metal fragments in the sugar topping used on the products.

House of Smoke recalled Wild Boar Brotwurst products on July 22, 2016 because they exceeded the regulatory levels of nitrites.

Kitchen Cravings recalled Strawberry and Mixed Berry Parfaits sold at Kwik Trip stores for peanuts, one of the major food allergens, on July 22, 2016. The peanuts were found in a granola mix used in the product.

Kapowsin Meats recalled 11,658 pounds of whole roaster hog pork products that may be contamianted with Salmonella bacteria on July 21, 2016. Those products are associated with a Salmonella outbreak in Washington state that has sickened at least 15 people.

Krispak recalled its GFS Honey Roasted Peanuts on July 20, 2016 because they contained pecans, or tree nuts, one of the major food allergens.

Hy-Vee recalled some of its No-Salt-Added Black Beans because they may contain small pieces of plastic or metal that pose a choking hazard. That recall was on July 20, 2016.

Starway Inc. recalled its Peony Mark brand Biscuits for undeclared milk and unallowed color on July 20, 2016. Those biscuits were imported from China.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled L.L. Bean Children’s Water Bottles on July 19, 2016 because they violated the lead level requirement.

In Canada, Pat’s Cookie Jar Peanut Marshmallow Squares were recalled on July 19, 2016 for undeclared milk.

Bar-S Foods recalled more than 370,000 pounds of chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog products for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination on July 19, 2016.

Agave Dream recalled its Cappuccino Ice Cream because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria on July 19, 2016.

Theo Chocolate recalled Salted Almond 70% Dark Chocolate Bars for undeclared milk on July 18, 2016.
