IKEA Updates Canadian Recall of Chocolate for Allergens

Ikea Canada is updating its recall of chocolate bars for undeclared tree nuts and milk, two of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to nuts or milk or who is lactose intolerant could have a serious reaction if they consume these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled products are all Ikea brand. All lot codes sold up to and including July 1, 2016 are included in this recall. The products are CHOKLAD MÖRK Dark chocolate in 100 gram packages, with UPC number 1.002.939.27.0003. CHOKLAD MÖRK Dark chocolate 70% in 100 gram packages is also recalled, with UPC number 1.203.080.94.0009.

CHOKLAD LINGON & BLÅBÄR Milk chocolate with lingonberry and dark chocolate with bilberry in 180 gram packages is recalled; the UPC number is 1.602.184.21.0009. GODIS CHOKLADKROKANT milk chocolate with butterscotch pieces in 450 gram packages is recalled. That UPC number is 1.202.155.04.0002.

GODIS CHOKLADRÅN Milk chocolate covered wafers with chocolaty filing in 168 gram packages is recalled. The UPC number is 1.202.290.30.0009. CHOKLAD LJUS Milk Chocolate in 100 gram packages with UPC number 1.402.939.25.0003 is recalled. Finally, CHOKLAD NÖT Milk chocolate with hazelnut is recalled, sold in 100 gram packages with UPC number 1.202.939.26.0008.

If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to tree nuts or milk, or are lactose intolerant, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. You can see pictures of the recalled products at the CFIA web site.
