Kashi, Bear Naked Snack Bar Listeria Recall Expands

Recall chalkboard

Kashi Company is expanding its previously announced recall to include two varieties of Kashi brand snack bars – including one product in Canada – and two varieties of Bear Naked granola for potential Listeria. The expanded recalled was triggered after the company’s sunflower seed supplier, SunOpta, expanded its recall of sunflower kernels.

Consumers who have purchased this brand of snack bar, should check product information carefully by clicking the preceding link. Anyone who has purchased the recalled items should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death.

Symptoms of  a Listeria infection can take as long as 70 days to develop. They include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Among pregnant women, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.
