Listeria Recall for Sandwiches Delivered to School Districts Expands

Listeria Recall

Let’s Do Lunch Inc. of Gardena, CA, dba Integrated Food Service (IFS) is expanding a Listeria recall of sandwiches that were distributed to school districts nationwide. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported but districts that have received these sandwiches should not use them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death.

The recalled sandwiches include turkey, ham and cheese subs; Italian subs, BBQ rib sandwiches, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chili dogs, sliders and more. To see the complete list, click the preceding link.

The expansion of the recall announced in June was issued after additional environmental testing was positive for Listeria. It now includes products produced between May 18 and June 16 distributed to foodservice distributors in the following eight states: CA, MI, NC, NM, OH, PA, TX, VA, WA.

Any school district that has received the recalled sandwiches should hold any product in frozen storage until arrangements can be made to return or destroy the product. The IFS recall coordinator can be reached at (800) 560-9999.
