Mr Rick’s Salmonella Outbreak Sickens Many in Washington

A Salmonella outbreak linked to food produced by Mr. Ricks Catering has sickened many people in Washington state. An investigation by the Washington Department of Health is ongoing. The outbreak could affect as many as 175 people. At least 20 people are sick after the July 2 wedding reception that was catered out of a home kitchen. Three of those people have confirmed Salmonella infections.

Salmonella

Illnesses have been reported from King, Kitsap, Pierce, Spokane, and other counties. Information about a specific food source has not been identified, but all of those sickened may have eaten chicken at the event.

Symptoms of a Salmonella infection include nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea that can be bloody. Anyone who attended  the event in Snohomish County and develops these symptoms should see a doctor and mention possible exposure to Salmonella.
