Safeway, ACME, Jewel Bakery Products Recalled for Peanuts

CMS Bakery Solutions is recalling three bakery products sold at Safeway, ACME, and Jewel, for undeclared peanuts. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

Recall SignThe recalled products are Safeway 8″ Single Layer Red Velvet Cake in a 1 pound 3 ounce package. The UPC number is 0226945 and the codes are Sell Thru: April 14 16 through May 2 16. Also recalled are ACME 12″ Decorated Chocolate Chip Cookie, which weighs 24 ounces. The unit UPC numbers of that recalled product are 4114405568, 4114457856, and 4114457855. A Scale Label is applied to that product. The code is Sell Thru May 02, 16. Finally, Jewel 12″ Decorated Chocolate Chip Cookie is recalled, in a 24 ounce package. The UPC number is 4114405568 and the code is Sell Thru April 28, 16. A Scale Label is applied to that product as well.

The Safeway Red Velvet Cake was sold in Safeway stores in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico (Farmington and Aztec), South Dakota, and Nebraska. The 12″ Decorated Chocolate Chip Cookie was sold in Acme stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York; and in Jewel stores in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. They were merchandised in the bakery department.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat them. throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
