Whole Foods Recall of Asparagus, Pea and Ricotta Salad

asparagus-salad-recallWhole Foods Market is recalling ten ounce packages of Asparagus, Pea and Ricotta salad for undeclared egg. Consumers who are allergic to egg should not eat this product as they could experience a severe allergic reaction. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported.

The problem was a result of mislabeling. The packages actually contain miniature Asparagus, Sun Dried Tomato and Swiss Frittatas. Because of the labeling error, an egg allergen was undeclared. The recalled product was produced at the Whole Foods Market North Atlantic Kitchen in Everett, Massachusetts and distributed in five states.

The recalled product  has the UPC Code 0 36406 30344 5 with the the “sell by” date of April 14, 2016 and was sold on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at fourteen Whole Foods Market locations. They are: Connecticut: Darien, West Hartford; New Jersey: Millburn, Middletown, Montclair, Ridgewood; New York:
Upper West Side, NYC; Rhode Island:University Heights; Massachusetts:
Wellesley, Cambridge (Prospect St), Cambridge, (Fresh Pond), Dedham, Hingham,  and Wayland. Signage is posted in affected Whole Foods Market stores to notify customers of this recall.
