More Dark Chocolate Products Recalled for Undeclared Milk

More dark chocolate products are being recalled for undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date in association with any of these recalls. You can see pictures of the recalled products at the FDA web site.

Figi’s is recalling dark chocolate gingersnaps for undeclared milk. The product was sold two ways: in a gift basket and as a bulk product.

The first product is Figi’s Gift #0368 Christmas Gingersnap Variety in 5.5 ounce tins. The tins contain the dark chocolate gingersnaps. And Bulk dark chocolate gingersnaps are being recalled. They are packaged in a plastic bulk bag with about 8 to 12 ounces of the product. These products were sold nationwide through mail order.

The mail order gifts are packed in a gold tin with a winter scene on the lid. The bulk chocolate gingersnaps in clear plastic bags were only distributed through Figi’s Outlet Store in Marshfield, WI.

Figis Dark Chocolate Gingersnap Recall

Germack recalled its Dark Chocolate Almond Bark for undeclared milk. This product was distributed to the retail store at Eastern Market in Detroit, Michigan, and was also sold through mail order.

The recalled product comes in 5 ounce and 1 pound clear plastic packages. It was sold between September 2, 2016 and October 30, 2017. The UPC numbers for those products are 088401520105 and 11681398.

And DSD Merchandisers are recalling dark chocolate almond products for undeclared milk. Those recalled products are Dark Chocolate Almonds, both in bulk and pre-packaged forms. They were sold at Safeway, Pak N’ Save and Vons stores in Northern California, Hawaii, and Nevada; Safeway and Albertsons stores in Oregon and Washington; and Nugget Stores, North State Grocery-Holiday / SavMor, Top’s Market, Murphy’s Markets, Andy’s Markets, and NorCal Produce.

The recalled products are Dark Chocolate Almonds in 11 ounce pre-packaged plastic cups, with UPC number 6-51433-66300-5; Dark Chocolate Almonds in bulk bins, with PLU 21881, sold at Albertson’s/Safeway/VOns/Pak N’ Save stores.  That product has the UPC number 6-51433-10004-3. Finally, Dark Chocolate Almonds in Bulk Bins at Nugget Markets are recalled, with PLU 6630 and UPC number 6-51433-10004-3.

If you bought any of these products and are allergic to milk or have lactose intolerance, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
