Gel Spice Company Recalls Spice Time and Spice Supreme Beef Flavored Bouillon Cube for Undeclared Allergens

Gel Spice Company is voluntarily recalling some of their Spice Time and Spice Supreme Beef Flavored Bouillon Cube products because they contain undeclared soy and wheat, two of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to soy and/or wheat, or who has celiac disease, could become seriously ill if they eat these products. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

The recalled products include Spice Time Beef Flavored Bouillon Cubes in 1.7 ounce packages with best by date 11/06/20 and UPC number 079679000543; Spice Supreme Beef Flavored Bouillon Cubes 25 Count in 3-1/2 ounce packages with best by date 11/20/20 and UPC number 076114304419; and Spice Supreme
Beef Flavored Bouillon Cubes in 1.7 ounce packages with best by dates 09/26/20, 11/06/20, and 12/05/20 and UPC number 076114304426. The “best by date” can be found on the back of the product bottle, below the product cap and above the product label.

these products were distributed by Gel Spice throughout the country to retail locations and distribution centers in Alabama; California; Connecticut; Florida; Georgia; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Maryland; Michigan; Minnesota; Montana; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; North Carolina; Ohio; Pennsylvania; South Carolina; South Dakota; Texas; Virginia; and Washington. The recall occurred after the company discovered that the beef bouillon flavored cube products containing wheat and soy were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of those ingredients.

If you bought these products and are allergic to wheat or soy, or have celiac disease, do not use them. Throw them away, or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
