Procesadora La Hacienda Seasoned Meat Recalled for Allergens

Procesadora La Hacienda of Puerto Rico is recalling about 140 pounds of raw meat products for misbranding and undeclared allergens. The product contains wheat and whey (milk), two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to wheat and/or milk, or who has celiac disease or is lactose intolerant, may have a serious reaction if they eat these products. There have been no confirmed reports of allergic reactions received to date.

The recalled product is 10 pound boxes containing 2 pieces of 5-pound “Seasoned Meat” chubs. They were packed on June 10, 2016 and February 7, 2017. They have the establishment number “21217A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were shipped to restaurant and cafeteria locations in Puerto Rico.

If you purchased this product and cannot eat milk and/or wheat, do not eat it. Throw it away or take it bucket the place of purchase for a refund.
