Recall of Pie and Tart Shells in Canada for E. coli O121 Updated

The food recall warnings for pie and tart shells in Canada for possible E. coli O121 contamination has been updated. There have been many recalls for different brands of these types of products since April 20017. No illnesses have been reported with the consumption of these specific products, but there is an E. coli outbreak in Canada associated with recalled flour.

The recalled items are from Harlan Bakeries – Edmonton. They were sold nationally at the retail level. They include sweetened tart shells in 570 gram packages, with best before dates 2017 DE 21 and 2017 DE 23. The UPC number is 0 60383 10429 0. Also recalled is Great Value brand Deep Dish Pie Shells in 380 gram packages. The code on that product is best before 2017 DE 23 and the UPC number is 6 28915 08589 1. Finally, Great Value brand Tart Shells in 570 gram packages is recalled. The code on that product is best before 2017 DE 22 and the UPC number is 6 28915 08591 4.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a secure garbage can or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.
