Two products have been recalled for undeclared egg and milk, according to the FDA. Weis store-made Penne Pasta with Asiago Sauce and Grilled Chicken Single Serving Meal has been recalled for undeclared milk, and Weis Dried Beef Party Rye Dip is being recalled for undeclared eggs and milk.
Weis Markets is recalling their Dried Beef Party Rye Dip that was sold in 11 stores. The product contains egg and milk that is not declared on the label. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The product was sold in eleven Weis Markets’ stores including most of its Binghamton New York area stores excluding its Vestal location. The dip was also sold in its two Williamsport, Pennsylvania stores located on River Avenue and Lycoming Creek Road and its Hazleton, Pennsylvania store. Other than those stores no other Weis Markets’ store is included in this recall.
The second recall is for Weis pre-made Penne Pasta with Asiago Sauce and Grilled Chicken Single Serving Meal for undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to milk or who is lactose intolerant could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. This product is safe to eat for people who are not allergic to milk or who are not lactose intolerant.
The product was sold in all Weis Markets’ stores. There have been no reports of allergic reactions related to this consumption of the product.
If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to the allergens in question, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.
