GHSW is recalling 365 by Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s chicken salads for possible Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella contamination. This is one of at least 13 secondary recalls issued because a vegetable supplier had to recall products for contamination. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.
These foods were made from October 1 through October 18, 2018. They include 10-ounce plastic tray packages containing “365 BY WHOLE FOODS MARKET BBQ STYLE CHOPPED SALAD WITH CHICKEN with Best if Sold By dates of 10/18/18 through 10/21/18 (inclusive); 8-ounce plastic tray packages containing “365 BY WHOLE FOODS MARKET CHICKEN FAJITA SALAD” with Best if Sold By dates of 10/18/18 through 10/21/18 (inclusive); and 13-ounce plastic tray packages containing “TRADER JOE’S BBQ SEASONED WHITE CHICKEN SALAD” with Best By dates of 10/18/18, 10/19/18, and 10/20/18. Also recalled is 10.7-oz. plastic tray packages containing “TRADER JOE’S FIELD FRESH CHOPPED SALAD WITH GRILLED WHITE CHICKEN” with Best By dates of 10/18/18, 10/19/18, and 10/20/18; and 10.7-ounce plastic tray packages containing “TRADER JOSÉ’S MEXICALI INSPIRED SALAD WITH CHILI SEASONED CHICKEN” with Best By dates of 10/18/18, 10/19/18, and 10/20/18. These products have the establishment number “P-44056” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to stores in Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
If you bought these salads, don’t eat them. Discard them in a sealed or wrapped package so other people and animals can’t eat them, or take them back to the place of purchase.
If you ate these salads, you need to watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis and Salmonella food poising. Listeriosis symptoms include fever, severe headache, stiff neck, diarrhea, and nausea. Salmonella food poisoning symptoms include fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you do start to feel sick, especially if you are older or are pregnant, call your doctor.
