Two products have been recalled because they contain food allergens that are not declared on the label. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these issues.
The first is a recall of Harris Teeter’s HT Traders Mama Biscotti Mini Biscotti – Triple Chocolate, for undeclared almonds and hazelnuts. Tree nuts are one of the eight major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to almonds or hazelnuts could have a serious reaction if they eat this product.
The recalled product is HT Traders mama Biscotti Mini Biscotti – Triple Chocolate with UPC number 7203670827. The supplier, Mom’s Best Gourmet Foods, notified the company about this issue and Harris Teeter removed the product from its store shelves.
The second recall is for New Seasons Market packaged macaroni and cheese, for undeclared egg. Anyone who is allergic to eggs could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. An employee noticed the mislabeled packages during a routine stock rotation check. The product do usually contain eggs, but eggs were accidentally left off the ingredient list and the “contains” allergens statement on the product label.
This recall only affects products at New Season’s 21 locations in Oregon, Washington, and Northern California with Packed on Dates between 12/19/2017 and 12/28/2017, and sell by dates up to 1/02/2018. The UPC codes on this product are 252089, 203999, 252090, and 706991. The product is sold in a metal container with a clear plastic lid.
If you purchased these products and are allergic to the stated allergen, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
