Two Recalls for J Bar B Foods and Sensenig Turkey Farm Sausages for Misbranding

Two sausage products, one by J Bar B Foods and the other by Sensenig Turkey Farm, have been recalled for misbranding and undeclared allergens, according to the USDA. No confirmed reports of adverse reactions have been received to date in either recall.

The first recall is for J Bar B Foods, for simple truth Chicken Sausage Links with Spinach and Gruyere. The product contains milk, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. A customer complaint triggered the recall.

The J Bar B Foods ready-to-eat chicken sausage items were produced on February 3, 2018. It is 12 ounce vacuum-sealed plastic packages containing “simple truth Chicken Sausage Links SPINACH GRUYERE” with lot code 8034, case code 90394, and “Sell By” date of April 16, 2018. The product has the establishment number “P-7066” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The sausages were sold at retail locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, and Virginia.

The second recall is for Sensenig Turkey Farm Breakfast Turkey Sausage and Chestnut Farms Breakfast Turkey Sausage, for undeclared wheat and soy, two of the major food allergens.

The raw breakfast turkey sausage items were produced on dates ranging from September 25, 2017 to February 26, 2018. They include 10-pound cases, each case containing two 5-pound bulk packages of “Sensenig Turkey Farm LLC Breakfast Turkey Sausage,” and 1-pound vacuum-sealed packages containing “Chestnut Farms Breakfast Turkey Sausage.” They have the establishment number “P-38466″ inside the USDA mark of inspection. The sausages were shipped to retail locations in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.”

If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to the respective allergens, don’t eat them. Return them to the store where you bought them, or throw them away.
