Euphoria Fancy Food of Brooklyn, New York is recalling 7.05 ounce packages of Capitan K Salmon Fillet because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The product is salmon slightly salted pieces. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

The recalled Capitan K Salmon Slightly Salted Pieces were sold nationwide through retail stores and also through mail order. The product is packaged in a 7.05 ounce vacuum package. The container code is 070519, and it has a best by date of 01/30/20. The UPC number is 607059000362.

The contamination was discovered after sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Market Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory. If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed package in a secure garbage can with a tight fitting lid so other people and animals can’t access it, or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

You should then clean out your refrigerator or pantry or wherever you stored this product with a solution of 1 tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of warm water. Remove all items from the storage place, wipe them down with this solution, rinse, and dry. Do the same to the shelves and walls of the fridge or pantry. Wash your hand thoroughly with soap and water after cleaning and after handling this product.

If you ate this product, monitor yourself for teh symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms can include high fever, stiff neck, severe headache, muscle aches, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women may have what seems like a mild case of the flu, but listeriosis can cause stillbirth, miscarriage, premature labor, and infection in the newborn. If you do get sick, call your doctor.
