Euphoria Fancy Food of Brooklyn, New York is recalling Tainy Vostoka Dried Apples for undeclared sulfites. Anyone who is allergic to sulfites may have a serious allergic reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date.
The recalled product is Tainy Vostoka Assorted Dry Fruits – Apple. It was distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail order. The product is packaged in a 500 gram clear plastic pouch. The container code on the product is #21 01 19 SS and the UPC number is 4605932006197.
The recall was initiated after routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in the 500gram packages of “Tainy Vostoka Assorted Dry Fruits-Apple” which were not declared on the label.
If you are allergic to sulfites and have purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
