Ninety-Four Sick in Iowa in Fareway Chicken Salad Salmonella Typhimurium Outbreak

The Iowa Department of Public Health just published information about case counts in the Fareway chicken salad Salmonella outbreak. As of noon Friday, February 16, 2016, there are 28 confirmed cases and 66 probable cases os Salmonella Typhimurium in Iowa. According to some news reports, one person in Martin county in Minnesota is also sick. The confirmed case definition is "Persons with Salmonella Typhimurium (confirmed or visual match to Pattern JPXX01.0275) with illness onset since January 1, 2018 reporting consumption of chicken salad from Fareway (any store) in the 7 days prior to illness onset."
