Radagast Pet Food of Portland, Oregon is recalling one lot of their Free-Range Chicken and one lot of Free-Range Turkey raw pet food because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No pet or human illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. The FDA and the Ohio Department of Agriculture found two samples that tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. bacteria. Redbarn Pet Products Expands Recall of Dog Chews for Possible Salmonella Contamination

Redbarn Pet Products is expanding their voluntary recall of dog chew products for possible Salmonella contamination that was issued on February 9, 2018. Now, all lots of product that were made with raw material from a single supplier are recalled. The recall is for products that were distributed from March 2017 to February 2018. The raw material was used to produce Redbarn, Chewy Louis, Dentley's, and Good Lovin' brand products. The recalled products have best by dates ending in BC. Blue Ridge Beef Recalls Kitten Grind Raw Pet Food for Possible Salmonella and Listeria Monocytogenes

Blue Ridge Beef of Georgia is recalling one lot of Kitten Grind raw pet food because it may be contaminated with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The FDA received a complaint of two kitten deaths. One of the deaths was confirmed caused by Salmonella septicemia. Testing of Kitten Grind lot number GA1102 found both bacteria. The recalled lot contains 20 cases or 300 chubs of the product. It was shipped to Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and North Carolina. The Kitten Grind two pound chubs are sold frozen. The Nebraska Department of Agriculture conducted sampling and found the pathogenic bacteria. The recalled product was distributed used to Minnesota, Georgia, Kansas, and Pennsylvania. FDA Updates Pet Owners About Pentobarbital in Canned Smucker Dog Food

The FDA issued an alert in February 2018 about potential pentobarbital contamination in canned dog food that's manufactured by The J.M. Smucker Company. The brands affected are some types of Gravy Train, Kibbles 'N Bits, Ol' Roy, and Skippy products. On March 2, 2018, J.M. Smucker was told that the firm's actions to remove products is now considered a recall. A test by the firm confirmed the presence of pentobarbital in the tallow ingredient used in the Smucker dog food. The FDA is continuing to investigate this issue. Two more brands of dog food are recalling some of their products; one for possible Salmonella contamination; the other for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. No human or pet illnesses have been reported to date in either situation. The first recall is for "Treat Me Crunchy Beef Delight" products by TruPet of Milford, Ohio, for possible Salmonella. The product is sold in 2.5 ounce containers. It was sold throughout the country via the online retailer Chewy.com and at TruDog.com through direct delivery. It has lot number 20190514 13753. FDA Alerts Pet Owners About Possible Pentobarbital Contamination in Smucker Dog Foods

The FDA is alerting pet owners about potential pentobarbital contamination in some canned dog foods manufactured by the J.M. Smucker Company. Positive pentobarbital results came in for certain cans of Smucker Dog Foods Gravy Train dog food. The company withdrew various canned dog food products from its Gravy Train, Kibbles 'N Bits, Ol' Roy, and Skippy brands. The FDA conducted a preliminary investigation of the testing results and found that the low level of pentobarbital in the Smucker Dog Foods products is "unlikely to pose a health risk to pets."
