Walmart Recalls Beef Produced at Rancho Feeding Corporation

Walmart is recalling frozen beef hamburger products processed by the Rancho Feeding Corporation. That facility produced beef that was not inspected by Federal inspectors and possibly made from diseased and unsound animals. No illnesses are associated with the consumption of these Jensen Meat Company products. That company released a statement saying that the recall action is not related to any contamination. Jensen Meat Company is a consignee implementing a third party recall. More Retail Locations for Recalled Adulterated Beef

The USDA has released more information about retail locations that may have received the adulterated beef made from diseased and unsound animals by Rancho Feeding Corporation. The meat was shipped to distributors in California, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Oregon, and Washington state. Please look at the long list of establishments, and the type of products sold. Some of the locations include farmers markets, Walmart, H-Mart, G&G, T&C Food Mart, churches, child care facilities, learning centers, and food banks. If you purchased or received beef from those locations in the past year, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase or discard it in a sealed container. Rancho Feeding Recalled Beef Also Sold in Oregon and Washington

The recall of Rancho Feeding Corporation beef products has been expanded. While the products recalled are the same, and the dates are the same, the USDA now says that the meat was sold in Oregon and Washington state. The 8,742,700 pounds of meat and meat products were made from diseased and unsound animals, and was not inspected by FSIS officials. The beef carcasses and boxes have the establishment number "EST. 527" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Every box has a case code number ending in "3" or "4". The products were produced January 1, 2013 through January 7, 2014 and shipped to distribution centers and retail establishments. LeftCoast GrassFed Recalls Beef Produced by Rancho Feeding Corp.

LeftCoast GrassFed is recalling all of its beef produced between January 7, 2013 and January 7, 2014 because it was made at the Rancho Feeding Corporation facility that processed diseased and unsound animals without benefit of federal inspection. Rancho Feeding recalled 8,742,700 pounds of beef last week because it was considered adulterated and unfit for human food. The LeftCoast GrassFed company contracted with Rancho Feeding Corporation to process cows on a few days in the summer and fall of 2013. There is no evidence that their products are unwholesome or compromised, but out of an abundance of caution, they are recalling their product.
