Alpine Slicing and Cheese Conversion Company in Wisconsin is voluntarily recalling several more types of shredded cheese which may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

    • Distributed in Texas between October 27, 2011 and December 23, 2011
    • UPC code number 0 4122024846 9
    • Sell-by dates of 08FEB12 and 09MAR12, on the back of the package
  • El Viajero Queso Quesadilla (Shredded)
    • 8 ounce packages
    • Distributed in Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, and Wisconsin between November 1, 2011 and January 3, 2012
    • UPC code 0 7282014045 7 on the bottom left of front label
    • Sell-by dates of 24FEB12, 09AR12, 15MAR12 on the back of the package
  • El Viajero Queso Cotija (Grated)
    • 4 pound packages
    • Distributed in Indiana and Minnesota between November 11, 2011 and January 3, 2012
    • Use-by code 09MAR12, on the back of the package
  • BMF Queso Quesadilla (Shredded)
    • 5 pound packages
    • Distributed in New York between October 21, 2011 and January 3, 2012
    • Sell-by dates of 16FEB12, 01MAR12, 15MAR12 on the case

The company is involved in two other recalls:

The company discovered the potential contamination when its products were tested by an independent lab. The lab testing confirmed that products did test positive for Listeria monocytogenes. The company is no longer producing or distributing cheese while the FDA is investigating. All of its inventory has been quarantined.
