Cloud’s Meats Recalls Beef and Pork for Possible E. coli

Cloud’s Meats of Missouri is recalling beef and pork products that may be contaminated with E. coli after positive test results revealed non-o157 Shiga toxin-producing bacteria in samples produced in November. Routine testing conducted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Meat and Poultry Inspection Program found the bacteria November 14, 2013.

ground-beef-fpbAbout 1,450 pounds of meat, including ground beef and pork, sausages, and steaks, are being recalled as a result of these tests. The recalled products have a code “318” and are labeled with Clouds Meats Inc. or Cloud’s Smoked Meats. The items include 1052 pounds of ground beef, 158 pounds of pork sausage, 152 pounds of ground pork, and 96 pounds of tenderized minute steak and tenderized round steak.

The products were not distributed for retail sale, but consumers may have them in their home freezers. If you purchased any of those products, do not eat them or handle them. Return to the place of purchase for a refund.
