Frozen Raw Chicken Products Recalled

Palama Holdings of Hawaii is recalling about 3,600 pounds of raw, frozen marinated chicken products because they may have experienced “temperature abuse” in the distribution chain. No reports of adverse reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled product is 10 pound cardboard boxes of May’s Hawaii “Hawaiian Style, Boneless and Skinless Teriyaki Chicken Thighs”. Each box contains 4 individual cryovac sealed packages. The chicken was produced on October 15, 2013 and November 5, 2013, then distributed for sale in the Hawaiian islands of Oahu, Maui, and Kauai and in a nearby military commissary. The packages have the establishment number “EST. P-11077” in the USDA mark of inspection.

A distributor observed some of the boxes had swollen with gasses from the bagged chicken. That means the temperature of the chicken rose too high during shipment. If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
