GoPicnic Recalls Vegan Meals for Undeclared Milk in Chocolates

GoPicnic is recalling some of their vegan GoPicnic meals because they contain undeclared milk in the chocolates that is not listed on the label. One illness that has been reported that is associated with the consumption of these products. The company’s chocolate supplier is recalling their product because of undeclared milk.

RecallThe recalled products are GoPicnic Black Bean Dip & Plantain Chips Meal with lot codes 10474, 10714, 10753, 11076, 11198, 11347, 11415, 11664, 11665, 11678, and 11762. Also recalled is the GoPicnic Hummus & Crackers Meal, with lot codesĀ 10235, 10265, 10272, 10320, 10330, 10334, 10377, 10395, 10501, 10508, 10607, 10742, 10731, 10752, 10825, 10837, 10842, 10852, 11001, 11000, 11032, 11033, 11089, 11087, 11199, 11302, 11325, 11510, and 11485. Only the products with those specific lot codes are recalled. The company had already discontinued the chocolate in the meal as part of their standard annual menu refresh; the chocolates were replaced because of melting issues. The recalled products were made before July 23, 2013.

If you aren’t allergic to or sensitive to milk, these products are safe to eat. If you do have an allergy, discard the chocolate contained in the meal.
